  it's the forum's 16th birthday today!.

  amazing that not only have we lasted so long but we're still thriving and growing.. thanks to all the people and often colorful characters who've contributed to the site over the years.

  some are still here with us, some have since moved on, but all have touched each others lives in some way along our different journeys.. .

  My neice was df at 16...the brothers would drive past her and my sisters in the rain and not even give a lift. ..such love. ...she never came back. ..no wonder

  a thought struck me...... the very generation (no pun intended) of people who the society is focussing so much attention on, that is the children, should not even be here!

  (think caleb and sofia etc).

  their parents, who are probably aged between 20 - 40 are the very generation too that should not be here if the societies strict guidance from the 70's and 80's was followed by their parents...ie to not have kids "because the end is soooooo close!".

  My mother said she didn't think I'd have to go to school...I was born 1970....I grew up in perpetual fear ...being told armageddon was just around the corner....my dad died when I was 8 I didn't know if he'd be resurrected because he wasn't a witness anymore. ..it's all to much for a child's brain lol....

  Governing Body went from anonymous secret group to T.V Stars??? How?

  when i grew up in the 1980's -90's it was rare to see a faithful slaves picture in 10 years of watchtowers.

  everything was anonymous.

  no one really knew there names except for the "holy oricle" fred franz.. now they are full on t.v stars with there own show.

  A faded JW about to see the Circuit overseer

  so my mum who is in and really is finding it hard that i have left and faded.

  shes asked me if i want to the the circuit overseer next week.. i have never met him and this is more my mum wanting me to get my problems i have with the organisation out.

  but should i share everything i've learnt or what?.

  Saturday Let the Games Begin

  the start of a new memorial season is upon us.

  saturday is the day for the start of the invites to look but not touch the bread and wine.

  the "observer class" is a belief unique to jehovah's witnesses.. along with the invite to the masses a special effort is being made this year by the elders to invite all the df's, da's and faders.. along with the invite a copy of the rtj will be left with them.. naturally we will still be treated as pariah's if we do attend but it is the thought that counts.. i am of the "fader class" as i don't wish to rock the boat with my wife and extended family.

  Oh no it's not thst time already is it?

  I was disfellowshipped sometime around September. ..to ne honest I'm not even sure when cos they didn't let me know when it was announced and as my partner was diagnosed with cancer I was dealing with that...my mother has refused to see me since then and my daughter has cut me off as per the rules

  If they come near the house I would actually be afraid himself would punch them ! And he is not a violent man but his blood pressure soars at the mention.....

  So do I play their game and go along this year and be treated like crap

  What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?

  i can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.

  i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.

  i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

  I wonder will they be able to watch Eastenders on it as well ....always used to annoy me that I'd miss Thursday nights episode...Oh wait we don't watch soap operas do we.....lol

  Did we ever think we would see the likes of tellys and Internet in the kh....!!!

  Soon they will cut out all local talks and everything will be beamed from the mother ship....
